Who is KayKay?

KayKay is a curious and sensitive little dinosaur who learns to navigate the world of emotions with gentleness, honesty and courage. In his adventures, he helps children put words to what they feel — and understand that there are no "bad" feelings.

Sensitive

He feels everything deeply — and that's his superpower.

Curious

He asks the questions adults don't dare to ask.

Brave

Even when it's hard, he says how he feels.

Authentic

He never pretends. He's just… himself.

Kelly, autrice de KayKay

Hello, I'm Kelly.

"I created KayKay because my children deserved books that look like them — real stories, about real feelings."

I'm an author, an illustrator-in-training, and mama to two extraordinary boys: Ayden, my eldest, and Kaylan, my little one. Ours is a neurodivergent family — and it's by learning to understand them, day after day, that I've gained a real feel for how they work. That's the experience I weave into my books, to help other parents facing the same challenges.

If my books are trilingual (FR/EN/NL), it's no accident: French is my mother tongue, I studied in Dutch, and English — which I loved even though I was hopeless at it in school — I truly made my own later, watching my series in the original version with subtitles. These three languages are part of who I am.

KayKay isn't just a project: it's my way of contributing to a world where children have words for their inner life. And adults too. Through my books, I want to pass on things that help them understand and protect themselves.
